3 stars From what I've heard, Dream Theater had a heavy influence on this album by the studio's criteria; you can hear this in the first 3 songs. They tried to make this music accessibly mainstream...You can hear this definitely on the You Not Me. Hallow Years is a good song, though you could tell its an easy listen on purpose. Burning My Soul and Just Let Me Breathe kind of get into that heavy sound with a pop twist. Take Away My Pain was just about average and repetitive. Anna Lee is just a soft ballad, sounds like a tear jerker...but NO, James Labrie starts hitting those high notes where you can't understand what he's saying....Trial of Tears was actually a good ending song for the album though the rest of the album was just about average. From A Change of Seasons and Awake, this is a good step forward, but from Images and Words, a huge step back. Most of the songs are just about average, nothing that really grabs you; like I've said before: not bad, just not that good either...

3/5 Stars. An Easy Listen for some...The musicanship of DT is always good while their creativity department lacks sometimes.
