2 stars An album that was written when the band had no sense of direction, since their keyboard had just left the band (Kevin Moore co-wrote Change of Seasons with them still so that was no problem to realize). So after Derek Sherinian had done a good job on that E.P. they decided to keep him in the band. But this new material was very weak, which some people blame it on the record company pushing them to change their style, but they could have at least written decent pop songs! There are a few songs that stand out from the rest namely "Lines in the Sand", "Hell's Kitchen", and "Trial of Tears". These are OK, but the rest is completely forgettable. As I said before the boys in the band didn't know where to go after Awake, and so they produced this collection of lifeless and unenthusiastic songs.
