'Heavy' stays true to it's name, though not necessarily by today's standards. Iron Butterfly's debut album is a textbook example of bluesy, heavy psychedelia. Memorable cuts include "Unconscious Power", "You Can't Win", "Fields Of Sun" and "Iron Butterfly Theme". And the rest aren't bad either, ranging from the light and pop-oriented to the moody and trippy.

Great album, yet severely overlooked. Highly recommended for fans of 60's psychedelia.
