4 stars Yeah -- I know; it's not "Close to the Edge". I started listening avidly to Yes back in '71 and quickly lost interest when "Tormato" came out in '78. Trevor Horn seemed to bring the band back to life a bit with "Drama" in '80, an album which I actually still enjoy listening to at times. Here, as producer (apparently he helped out the production a bit on "Drama, too) plus the other Trevor present, a new Yes comes out. No, it's not prog, but so what? The songs here make the rest of the MTV drivel from 1983 pale by comparison. The outake/bonus tracks here are killers, too. They show accurately how Cinema was progressing before eventally morphing back into Yes with Jon Anderson back with his infamous pipes again. I still consider this an important work as Art of Noise and other noted projects coalesced out these sessions. That early digital sound here is now kind of dated, but for some twisted reason my ears still want to hear it.
