1 stars there's something in this world called "selling out" and it occurs when for some reason...great bands decide that they want to "please the masses" personally, as a musician, i've never understood this. on this album...the beauty and magnificance that was "yes" the real yes...was lost. certain people involved in this, trevor horn, and trevor rabin....they aren't what you would call..."prog artists" don't get me wrong, as a guitarist, trevor rabin was great, tho...not a steve howe by any stretch. trevor horn...well...you can look at that guy and see he's just not a "deep" person with the ideas that would promote a real yes album. eddie offord was the man behind the scenes when yes was at their best. 90125 is just aweful...there's one good song on there in "cinema" and really...it's not even that much of a song. owner of a lonely heart...i never know what to say about this song, other than....popular. every person that i have met in my life, when i tell them yes is my fav group....only knows that song, and that is a VERY SAD THING. yes is so much more than owner, and for this to be their best known song...is just terrible. i've always wanted to sit down and ask jon or chris, what exactly they were thinking when the 80's occured...to go from such wonderful music to this...i will never understand it. in fact, in my opinion, after drama up until the ladder, most of yes' new stuff regretablly just isn't good. i don't reccomend this album, unless you are into popular sounding love songs, and the average everyday sounding music, cause that's what this is all about. yes were about pushing the envelope, and doing something no one had ever done before...but they fell from grace here. jon always said, "music is a spiritual thing, a danceable thing" well...what happened jon? there was nothing spiritual or danceable on this album to me.
