4 stars HERE... NOT THERE

Another King Crimson oriented band? Uhm... I think yes from the first approach. However this Anekdoten are a good band for a contemporary Prog and Heavy Prog. The combinations of Cello and keyboards transform this umpteenth King Crimson oriented band in a very personal band. See the case of the extreme good ballad "Here". This ballad with a great snare drums is extreme indicative in this sense. The modern (futuristic?) Prog Metal of 90's King Crimson here is contamined from a really bulky amount of Pink Floyd and Extreme Metal. Correctly, because this is the music of Anekdoten. Cello and keyboards create an immense sound carpet with a good distorting bass guitar. If a song like "Nucleus" is extreme good and fresh, a song like "Harvest" is too King Crimson. But the correctly mix is representing by the double track "Book Of Horus (a] Pendulum Swing/b] The Book). In general "Nucleus" is very sperimental and modern, at the bouìndaries of Prog Metal. But remain a great Heavy Prog album. From the first to last note.
