MAGNIFICATION

The use of an orchestra is an interesting experiment and works well. Those who saw Yes and the orchestra live would generally vouch for that. In the Presence Of and Magnification have become the most played tracks live, but Dreamtime is probably the best and the most prog-like. Overall the album is a rewarding listen, but lacks a bit of edge and the closing track Time is Time is a bit of a throwaway. Lyrically it is one of Anderson's easier albums, with Spirit of Survival being about the plight of refugees.
