4 stars Frank Zappa is one of my favorite musicians when it comes to compilations and abstractness. His anti-hippie, anti-society driven music isn't always that upfront (but it, just as often, is upfront) and i'm not sure i agree with everything he has ever stood for (being a big fan of the hippie-generation music and culture) but he's passionate for it.

Absolutely Free is one of Zappa's stranger albums, and one of his earliest, some really great, wacky "songs" are running around here, and it gives me a good feeling ever time.

Brown Shoes Don't Make is one hell of a number, it's insane and than some, one of Zappa's crowning moments. The Duke of Prune songs are amusing, and Call Any Vegetable is hilarity at its best.

Frank Zappa's music isn't one for normal music listeners, they will find it impossible to find any redeeming qualities in a brilliant, but not quite perfect, album such as Absolutely Free

for Zappa fans and non-commerical music die hards only.
