4 stars Besides 'Pictures at an Exhibition', ELP's infamous live tribute to Mussorgsky back in 1971, this massive triple live set the only live document released in their classic period from 70-74. It was recorded during one of the gigs on the Brain Salad Surgery tour and is overall one hell of a trip that covers most of their very best stuff from their four studio albums up to that point. Even 'Tarkus' and 'Karn Evil 9' are both featured here in their entirety, prolonged with some additional solos on top. The sound quality of this set is decent though a bit muddy, but that is a small complaint really since the set list is really good and representative of their best stuff, and the performances from the band tend to get dangerously fast compared to the studio versions at times. Wow is all that I can say! If you like ELP this is absolutely worth having in your collection as it captures the intense live energy of the band at the height of their powers, before they fatigued while going through the motions with the somewhat lackluster studio recordings of 'Works', and eventually the failed beach ball party of 'Love Beach'..
