5 stars This album was my introduction to Ozric Tentacles and psychedelic progressive rock. I remember I'd found it in the casette player of a friend of mine, borrowed it and never gave it back... What amazes me is that after listening to this album for more than ten years now I still find it interesting, entertaning and well constructed. This is the only album of Ozric that I can listen to from the beginning to the end - on others there are some excellent tracks, but the rest are, to be honest, crap. Jurassic Shift comes to my mind as an example of that. Anyway, in my opinion tracks 2&3, and 6 are true masterpieces. Even if there are too many things going on: sound effects and unnecessary twirls, they still manage to keep it controlled, and flowing in one direction. I am not a musician so I cannot analyse the music correctly, but I think someone would find it interesting to sit down and follow the structure and mood changes. I'd recommend this album for anyone new to psychedelic progrock as a good one to start with. Track 1 is a good filter: if they like it for the first time they will love the rest of the album (and probably psychedelic music in general).
