ALCHEMY

THIRD EAR BAND , this record was always something of a mystery to me. On the surface it sounded like to doodlings of some pretty poor musicians. However there were moments that overturned that opinion. Often it sounds like they are playing different tunes in different rooms. The strangeness of this record has not passed with the years. On the plus side it is quite pleasant to listen to, not discordant most of the time. Clearly the musicians had some idea where they intended this music to go. These days it no longer sounds quite so radical or so experimental. I cannot say I like this record very much preferring their Macbeth set. I would not buy this record if I did not already own it.
