2 stars This band used to perform a ritual with a naked woman in the innocent pre-rock bitch world of the 1970's that was a brave thing to do. She was a lovely looking woman as well.....ah my smutty youth. The music isn't as Dark as you might expect and is certainly progressive rock. Personal changes mean that this record has really to be considered a one off later Widow records are less interesting. This then is a one of a kind record from an age before Satan was a common marketing ploy and witch's were few in number rather than the latest in trendy fashions. If Black Widow were really into the devil or just experimenting we will never know because this is all that remains of that line up. The music is a little like Tull and a little like Paladin in fact its a lot like a lot of third division prog bands although there a few moments that hinted at direction. I always hoped there would be a follow up record but when it came it really was a disappointment. This record is far from great but if you find it you owe it yourself to buy it. There is I hear a better album that pre-dates this one but I have yet to hear it. Of course this is the sort of rare record that is rare mostly because it is not very good. Other than young men hoping to snag a witch not many people bought this one. One for the collectors I think. Saying that it is much better than most of the crap that Satan inspires these days.
