4 stars I actually acquired this album as a through away from my father, who as a fan of the progressive rock genre, did not rate it at all. However, I must disagree with him. "Air Conditioning" is the debut album of the female led progressive rock band Curved Air. the album all and is labeled as eclectic, but at times sounds more like the work of Yes or even The Moody Blues (especially on "Stretch"). The high points of the album are the tracks "Vivaldi", which is a sort of musical montage of some of Vivaldi's "Four Season's", and "Screw", which is an excellent eclectic all-rounder. The thing that really makes this band stand out is the use of female vocals. Compared to the vocal's of symphonic band Renaissance at times, singer Sonja Kristina delivers some excellent smooth vocals throughout, and really proves herself to be a top vocalist. The other thing that really stands out about this album is the emphasis on violin, which really boosts the albums timbre and feel throughout. A top album for any fan of eclectic prog, 4 stars.
