2 stars Teenage lust and other apocalyptic boredom stories.

Never been a follower of any of the 3 AMON DÜÜLs indexed in PA's Krautrock sub-genre, I took a plunge into this release by the second reincarnation of this German band AMON DÜÜL II's "Vive La Trance",1974.

In some sense I expected something at least a little bit more ground breaking or at least daring in accordance of the genre and year of this release, but this just does not happen at all.

Closer in spirit to Krautrock are its playfulness and irreverence. Music wise it sounds like an attempt to go mainstream and its possible experimentations and use of contemporary influences (Roxy Music included), are limited or hidden in favor of their market wise ambitions, which are mostly balanced towards the electric guitar HENDRIX like soloings or the focus on the songwriting being radio air-waveable enough .

To cut it short, this is very average Rock n Roll with some quirky synths added up to decorate its songwriting limitations.

I will hardly think of this release as the best way to get aquainted with this band's second coming, therefore I can not rate it above the "uninteresting and kind of boring unless you are a fan" **2 PA stars mark.
