5 stars I just purchased this album about a couple weeks ago and i can not stop listening to it. I have always hared of Pat Metheny , so i decided to get of copy of The Way Up, an album that has 4 songs and each song is very lengthy, except for the opener. This is such a creative album. this album displays some amazing musicianship. Of course This is Pat's band and he brings some great musicians along with him like drummer Antonio Sanchez and Lyle Mays on piano/keyboards. To me each track is something not to overlook, but probably my two favorite tracks are part 2 and part 3 which is the only track with some vocals. If you looking for some real music to hear check this out, but let me tell you Pat Metheny's music is not like any of the other fusion bands that i listen to, his music is much more mellow and the music created on this album is beautiful. A jazz masterpiece 5 stars, for anyone who is fan of great music
