3 stars These guys man, both two juggernauts of the genre. It just so happened they were good friends with each other, and was thusly only a matter of time before they did an album together. The results? Eh, I wish I could say it had that Reese's cups hey you got chocolate in my peanut butter goodness to it but it just didn't live up to my expectations.

It's a live album, as a little warning for those of you looking for the same production of Trout Mask Replica and the like. It does contain some spoken word tracks delivered courtesy of the Captain, whose scratchy gravelly voice makes it work. This album is a landmark album for die-hard Zappa fans, as it's Terry Bozzio's debut with the band, whose drumming stands out throughout the set.

My favorite, as many people's favorite, on the album is the closer, Muffin Man. With it's spoken word lunancy of a Muffin sort of mad scientist, combined with some gorgeous fretwork courtesy of Zappa, it's a hallmark of his collection and is a great song to introduce people to Zappa to (which is probably why it's on his greatest hits collection). I love this song, just listen to it if you ever get the chance.

Overall, a solid effort that seemed like it could've been amazing. A strong 3 stars, carried in part, by the strength of Muffin Man, it's a good deeper cut into Zappa's massive discography.

Some people prefer cupcakes, but I, for one, could care less about them
