3 stars The way I see it, Barry, this should be a very dynamite show...

The weird stuff from maestro Zappa. If you don't like enjoyable music this album is perfect for you! While listening to Lumpy Gravy you must remember, this stuff is from the sixties; Zappa did very good job recording such strictly avant garde album in the times when hundreds of bands in the USA were influented by the wave of summer of love. Bands of this wave thought there were freaks but in the fact Mr Zappa was the real freak who played freaky music.

You may find it hard to get along with this music, it's pure avant garde. It's really, really hard to describe this record, some may say it's not even music, but somehow, in some strange way - I enjoy it! I would recommend it for Zappa fan ofcourse and for those, who are tired of 'traditional' ways in music and want to listen to the REAL avant garde...
