3 stars After the due of concept hits (Epica, Black Halo) Kamelot releases their newest addition Ghost Opera

When I first saw the cover art to this album I expected something very nice...first impression good so far! Let's take a look.

The album starts with a nice violin intro named Solitaire the track is the intro to what feels to be an outstanding experience. Ghost Opera begins with Rule The World a heavy symphonic tune with metal riffs galore. A welcomed track that brings forth a collection of similar-genre tunes ranging from Trash, Symphonic, Progressive Metal and some power metal.

Unfortunately, to progressive fans, the album will not suffice your need of Progressive elements, rather than a Progressive album like Epica and Black Halo, Ghost Opera is a compilation of individual metal tracks ranging from the diverse branches of the genre.

To Metal enthusiasts this album is an exceptional addition to your collection. Some may feel Kamelot disappoints at not bringing the same Epic feeling of Black Halo, but Ghost Opera offers a nice set of songs nonetheless.

Tracks such as Ghost Opera offer symphonic styles while Blucher and Love You to Death bring a ballad-like feel to the tunes. The Human Stain and Up Through The Ashes brings the not-so much heard side of Kamelot's trash metal.

Overall, a nice set of tracks, not so much as an album comparing to their previous 2 works. A nice addition to Kamelot fans, to new-comers, listen first to Epica and The Black Halo before you listen to this album.
