BREAK OUT

As a chameleon, the band tried and matched different musical styles during the last couple of years. From pop to reggae, to a more hard rocking music. And it is exactly what you'll get here. This album has never been remastered in the CD format. It was poorly received when it was released and maybe therefore, no plans to reissue it were felt necessary.

Needless to say, that this album is far from reaching the quality of their earlier work. The recipes I have mentioned above are all here as well. But you have to add some poor AOR music ("Somebody Loves You Tonight") to be complete. Probably the worse of this album.

You want some rocking ones ? Try "Tonight" , "Town To Town" or "Rock City". A pop one? Try "Charlena". A reggae-ish one ? Try "I Need It".

A syrupy rock ballad with awful vocals (Mario is forcing quite a bit during the chorus)? Don't try it. Press next. Even if Thierry Plas is playing a nice guitar solo during "Draw The Line" (yes, the line is definitely drawn...).

A song as "Nobody Knows" features some aerial background keyboards. Somewhat reminiscent of their earlier days. Atmospheric music, slow beat : almost prog, my friend.

After so many weak numbers, the closing "Lay Down" is welcome. Again? It is more on hard edge (but remember that Roland and Marc were playing in a band called "Moby Dick".).

Four average songs "Tonight", "Charlena", "Nobody Knows" and "Lay Down" can't save this album from misery. The poorest "Machiavel" one so far. One star.
