PAWN HEARTS

In my opinion, the peak of VDGG's output, but I wouldn't listen to it for the sake of lifting my spirits. It's dark, conjuring up images of whirlpools and sea storms. I particularly like the sections of Lighthouse Keepers where they are just totally going out of control, absorbing your mind into a variety of dissonant textures. This is a highly influential and highly recommended album, and a great way to become initiated into the dark-side of progressive rock.
