3 stars Simply put Feedback is Rush having fun, a stark contrast to the brooding heaviness of Vapor Trails. Listening to this covers EP you can't help but feel good for Geddy, Alex and Neil and while some may miss the Rocket Science-like musicianship on songs such as Heart Full Of Soul or The Seeker (Originally by The Who) few can argue with the band's brilliant chemistry that lingers heavy in the air. Its a shame Rush weren't more adventurous in what they chose to include on Feedback, some real Prog-Rock would have been ideal, but even fans of the original songs would have to be pretty convincing to make a case that the magic isn't captured on Summertime Blues, For What It's Worth or the Cream-styled version of Crossroads. Admittedly at times Feedback sounds confined compared with Rush's original music and the temptation to put a real Rush album on can creep up. Faithful fans will enjoy this as an interesting novelty collection once in a while if for nothing more than to hear their favourite power trio having a blast!
