FATA MORGANA

Baalbek is a band from Argentina taken their name from an old city from Lebanon from 3000 BC. They released only one album in 2000 named Fata morgana. The name belong to Morgana Le Fey (later named Fata morgana) who was stepsister of Arthur the king of England. The quick introduction was made so about the music here. All the album is instrumental and is a cross between jazz-fusion a la Passport on some pieces, some prog metal elements on other pieces and some Steve Vai riffs and solos here and there. So a combination of almost everything that is good and well palyed in the world of music. This combination is Baalbek. Very strong album very well played with losts of time signature, nice moods, slow and smooth pieces, faster and great executed tracks. The musicians are unknown by me 'till this album was descoverd, but they are very skillfull and musicianship is top notch. I'm not mention the forte tracks because all are great. So in the end an underrated album by many listners, to me is a very solid album and desearve without hesitation 4 stars, i don't understand why is so band received here on PA. 4 star, recommended
