5 stars The 2nd disc by Relayer is a step up from their prior, "A Grander Vision." The have forged their own style, so again don't be decieved by the name. Although at time they can have Yes elements going on, they are by no mean clones or trying to emulate Yes. The song writing seems more diverse and tighter compaired to their prior. Songs that really stand out are "Marburg Friends" (#3 above is mis-spelled), "Common Goal", A Genesis (Lamb Era) type "Cairo" into a Queen/Jellyfish/Genesis "Everyday Disguise", and "Eleven Steps" with its odd time and shorter than I wanted length. The jewel on this disc is "Madness" which has all the dynamics and bombast I love in prog rock. There is not a bad tune on here from a classical guitar piece to the closing "I Am" which has some great moments from all members. The new drummer elevates the music spicing up the rhythm section and the rest all seem to have established their roles of support and lead when needed. Vocal melodies and harmonies are something that not many bands bring to the table, so I highly recommed this disc.
