5 stars This VHS tape was finally cleaned up and re-released on double DVD earlier this year. I know people was standing in ques to get this...... and with good reasons.

This is the footage from this 23 years old live album with the same name. The sound has been severely enhanced with surround system 5.1 if I am not mistaken. The footage has been cleaned up to. There are some good extra bits too. Most notably the one hour long interview with the band and people around them. That alone is worthy the DVD because this feature is very interesting and captivating.

The Live After Death live show (the same as the double CD with the same name) is the main feature here though. Many would say this is Iron Maiden at their most majestic and best. Iron Maiden mixed heavy metal and progressive rock here with their Egyptian theme. Songs like Powerslave and Rime Of An Ancient Mariner is included. The stirring speak by Winston Churchill is also included as the opener. A superb show and a must have for any music lover.

In addition to the Live After Death, this double DVD does include the VHS tapes Behind The Iron Curtain and Live In Rio '85. You also get the promo videos for Aces High and 2 Minutes To Midnight as bonus here + some other stuff like galleries and some features from Texas.

Altogether over five hours of the best of Iron Maiden. For the normal price of a DVD; it is an absolute bargain and an essential release for any Iron Maiden fan. If you are a prog rock fan only, maybe not.

But 5 stars it is.
