4 stars The best prog rock band from Germany ?

This band is one of the best finds from PA in my view. I found the band here, got their albums and fell in love. Then I let them rest for some months before I listened to them again. Just to give them a fair hearing.

Two twenty minutes + long epics. That's this album. Both of them are lush and full of very good music. The best of them are the first epic, the title track. The first ten minutes of it is just fantastic. The rest of the album is superb too.

The music is very much in the ELP (Emerson, Lake & Palmer) vein. But it is not a clone. This German band does prog a bit less complicated and much more melodic than ELP. Still, this album require concentration. This is certainly not an album for the masses. The music is moog based, with some added bass and guitars. The music is not particular heavy or bombastic. There are some good vocals here, but most of the music is instrumental.

I find this album very interesting. A hidden gem, indeed. That is, if you are not active on PA. This is one of the finds of the year in my view.

4 stars.
