1 stars I have come to the painful realization that I don't really like Pendragon. I thought they were one of my favorite bands, but it is more accurate to say that The Masquerade Overture and Not of This World are two of my favorite albums. Pendragon HAS changed, and I wish them well on their new journey of straight rock compositions. I'm not along for the ride anymore. Believe, and now Pure have made the synths fade into the background, more ambient ornamentation for what are really singer-songwriter style songs, showcasing guitar and vocals. The rhythms are no longer progressive, but reveal the desire to excite crowds at concerts and get people dancing. If I want to rock in a stadium, I'll go see the Scorpions. If I want to dance, I'll go see Seal. I have the overwhelming feeling that this band has run out of their best ideas, and now wants to become something that they're not.
