3 stars Somewhat different than the "Best of Beckology" release, this one didn't have the humor of placing "I Ain't Superstitious" right before "Superstition". It does however place the Yardbirds great original version of "Shapes Of Things" right before Rod Stewart's dirge-like sandpaper vocaled version.

Highlights on this collection are the wonderful "Beck's Bolero", a raucus "Going Down", the aforementioned "Superstition", the live "Freeway Jam", "Big Block", and one of the greatest guitar ballads ever, "Cause We've Ended As Lovers".

Low points are a rough, screechy "Wild Thing", a rougher "The Train Kept A-Rollin'", and the awful Rod Stewart again singing "People Get Ready". What did Beck ever hear in that guy's voice to make him want to record so much with him?
