I got the feeling the band needed a record to promote at the R30 gigs when they released this cover album. They did some of the songs on this album on the R30 tour and I guess my point was proven. Which in my view was a travesty because there is a lot of hidden gems in the Rush discography they could had played instead.

OK, I can understand that Rush want to pay tribute and pay back their heroes from the past. Maybe I am doing it myself when I am reviewing Rush albums. I could had done something more useful. Ironing my shirts for example and studying to an exam. But for the same reasons as Rush is paying homage to their heroes, I am paying homage to Rush. Well, maybe not in this review.

Music wise, the songs are OK. The "For What's It's Worth" does not work. I think CS&N has done this far better themselves. "The Seeker" is a damp squid. The rest is OK. It is always nice to listen to Rush so I do not have any major complaints. But this is for me a pointless album although I am sure Rush loved recording it. But for everyone else; this album is pointless.
