4 stars ELP's Brain Salad Surgery opened a new horizon for three personnel band. The keyboard ablazed guitar's place in stage. Emerson is the man that would take care of this point. Stiil the only One until now. He's Hendrix in keyboards. Played with marvelously spirit the entire "Karn Evil 9" was abominating. The keyboard; bass (I like the speed and power of Lake's versatility); and drums; were chaining as one like the wave in the ocean.

This album was breaking my room back then. Nodding my head. Spreading my ears. Punching my heart like a platinum hammer. "Jerusalem" is quite sweet, but yet it was too psychedelic in the next minute. "Toccata" is a match answer for classical piano. Good interpretation by Emerson was never too standar. And "Still... You Turn Me On", for this one I asked once, is this a song about maryjane's dope or what? I like the implicit theme in that song. I mean the way that Lake used to knock-out the stupidity of human is brilliant.

So there was "Benny The Bouncer". It's kind a unique and funny song. Speed of Palmer's drums was chasing, or played as a "best-man" to, Emerson's keyboard, piano, organ, and Lake's bass. Country reign sound is awoken up out of this song. A hard lyric has covered by a ear-catchy music.

And..... there is a new horizon, in progressive rock land.
