5 stars The swan song of one of the greatest artists of the last 50 years is a magnificent album, whose architecture closely resembles that of another iconic album, Station to Station (1976): both of them have only 40 minutes long, few songs (7, half of the number of tracks of 2013's The Next Day; StS had only 6), an epic title track (which combines jazz and progressive rock and whose lyrics are kind of a testament), an intermediate song with religious symbolism ("Lazarus") and a closing track ("I Can't Give Everything Away") as a touching farewell. Blackstar is arguably one of David Bowie's 10 best albums.
