2 stars I am concluding my venture into the world of Pestilence with a review of this compilation album.

It is pretty obvious from this album that the record label had second thoughts about Spheres by only including one song from this album. The majority of this album is based around Testimony Of The Ancient and the previous two albums. The pure thrash/death metal albums, in other words. The compilation album ends with four live songs.

If death metal is your thing, this is a pretty good introduction to Pestilence. I have always regarded Pestilence as one of these Death clones. The two other bands being Morgoth and Cancer. I always preferred the likes of Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and Obituary to the death metal light Death and it's clones. But Pestilence was one of the decent death metal bands out there and this is a good intro to them. It is a shame that Spheres has been given just one song.
