3 stars 90125 marks a profound change in the way the group's music is interpreted, so much so that it is difficult to recognize them as a progressive symphonic group that created several of the most representative works of the genre (Close To the Edge, Fragile, etc). This turn has to do with Howe's departure on guitars and the entry of the much more hard rock guitarist Trevor Rabin, who assumes a leading role in the compositional part and in the musical direction. Jon Anderson's return as a singer after his absence from the Drama album is the only thing recognizable from his previous era.

Beyond the considerations and tastes for the musical style, I think that some songs can be rescued from the album. This is how we have the very good Hold On, a classic hard rock theme, the festive It Can Happen, and the also powerful Changes, similar to Hold on. A separate point for the fast-paced Cinema, just over 2 minutes of pure adrenaline, in my opinion the best song on the album, ideal to start any concert in the best way and very much in the style of Child's Anthem of the group Toto (album with the same group name). Hearts is the song most similar to what we could consider progressive, but it is a few steps below any typical piece of the best Yes.

Both Owner Of A Lonely Heart (their mega commercial success), as well as Leave It, Our Song and City Of Love, without being bad songs, do not honor the history of this legendary group.
