4 stars To find good Swedish music from the late 70s is not an easy task!, the music scene in general was mishmash of Punk, Dance bands, 50s retro bands (like The Boppers) and Political progg. In this chaotic musical climate there was not much space for a symphonic hard rock band like Autumn Breeze, a group that relied more on its music than on Political manifests, sleazy ducktails or other trends of the day, due to the interview that is included on this CD one can hear that they definitely didn't felt like the band was a part of the Swedish musical movement, and absolutely not related to the upcoming Punk scene, which they refer to as "even worse than Beer class 2". Autumn Breeze, together with bands like Kaipa, Radiomöbel, Dice, Trettioåriga Kriget and Blåkulla have now finally reached a limited but well deserved cult following all over the world, much for the reason that they played timeless music and their records have aged very well over the years. The music on this radio show is no exception, none of the seven tracks here is included on the "Höstbris" LP but the members are the same apart from the rhythm section that this time consists of Krister Hildén on bass and Tomas Andersson on drums. The melancholic vibes and dreamy female vocals that is significant for this group is here, and the brilliant flute parts in cuts like "Dimman från havet" is not far behind the sound of Jethro Tull and Out of Focus, along with the well crafted soundscapes from keyboard wizard Jan Warnqvist and axeman Gert Nilsson´s violent fuzz guitar solos, this is the perfect soundtrack for the autumn. I think this is a slightly heavier and more unpolished effort than the "Höstbris" album (which suffers a bit from its slick production) this is live and in my book that means quality! We should be lucky that this tiny piece of Swedish music history now is available to a wider audience.
