3 stars A lot of negative reviews about this Jazz Rock band out of the UK. They released some albums in the 70's before disbanding then getting back together to record this album which contains 13 new tracks plus re-recordings of 6 songs from their debut. This was released in 2003. A trio of bass, drums and sax they offer up these short little tunes that are usually punchy and instrumentally impressive. But different which I think is why I'm drawn to these guys. The bass player will often lead playing chords, the drummer is outstanding and the sax player is a beast soloing over top. Energetic and catchy but not for everyone apparently. Almost comes across as a novelty recording with that sax sounding like a chicken at times, just a very entertaining release but not one that I will probably play again. Fun stuff! My favourite tracks on here are the ones they re-recorded from the debut, an album I own and rate at 3.5 stars.
