YESSONGS

Easily one of Yes' finest live hour, though the sound quality is lacking utterly in most songs. Yessongs is a great collection of some stuff that was recorded on The Yes Album (1971), Fragile (1971) and Close to the Edge (1972) all of which are excellent. The only thing, and I have mentioned it before, is the sound quality. There is not much bass guitar in some songs (Long Distance Runaround) and sometimes it's just too muddy (Siberian Khatru) but there are moments of pure grace. The performance is amazing, with Alan White and Bill Bruford switching on drums, it's one of the finest. Chris Squire gives a nice bass solo after Long Distance, and Jon sings wonderfully the whole album. Steve is, well, simply stunning the whole time.
