3 stars Great first Coryell's album as he showcases his talent and versatility. Not quite versed in fusion, he goes well with a mixture of blues, jazz and psychedelic rock. Vocal qualities are not the worst ones. Tracks have surprisingly much charm and emotions which is not typical for fusion guitar players. You can hear an obvious vocal and guitar Hendrix's influence on tracks like "Sunday telephone". "Treats style" has the closest jazz feeling but certainly not up there with Montgomery. "Stiff Neck" is another highlight with guitar and drums getting loose and wild, Coryell is showing great fluidity and creativity on guitar. "Cleo's mood" is a bluesy number, a nice end to this album.
