An album of pure virtuosos and some of the most impressive demonstration what 4 aces can do to prove that music has no limits in terms of creativity and imaginationa!This is the third and final album of an unique fusion rock band- COLOSSEUM II!!!Jon Hiseman,the instigator of this project,and unique membere of the defunct COLOSSEUM , found in the other 3 guys the perfect line up to prove that Brit musicianscan produce some high quality fusion music with a more rock roots and basis!The new territory that COLOSSEUM II were exploring at the time were totally challenging and especially the rocker GARY MOORE was something like a true revelationa!!!He could be called the guitar chameleon and this album proves his versatility and I think GARY MOORE was never more adventurous in it's musical expression than in the COLOSSEUM adventure!Don Airey is simply stunning and the sounds of his keys are out of this world!Very modern at the time,and not trying to use the classical moog anymore! Sometimes he plays with fury and aggresivity-in the good sense of the word!John Mole on bass is so efficient and sometimes unbelievebly spectacular!The new musical soundscapes explored were very challenging!Just listen the furious STRR MAIDEN/MYSTERIOSO/QUASAR and we have the feeling to hear MAHAVISHNU or RETURN TO FOREVER on steroids!Pure jazz rock fusion made by 4 knights of virtuosity at the top of their inspiration!Just realise the fact tat this album was made in 1977 and ,man,what a stunning and modern approach for the so very skilled musicians!It was the period of permanent searches and wish to push ahead permanently the technical and instrumental skills for the musicians that were making music for the love of an unique art called music!Man,this album is like the wine!The older he gets the more valuable he become!In 2009-32 years old!!!Unbelieveble...and not a single trace of dust !!!
