MAGNIFIED AS GIANTS

Caligonaut's album Magnified as Giants is a definite highlight of the year for me. As a person who commutes a lot by plane, this record has become a regular and perfect soundtrack to those trips. The lengths of the songs allow for in depth listening but also contain variations to keep the listener alert. Especially the two longest songs, Emperor (which leans a bit on the heavy side) and Lighter than Air (reminiscent of early 70s Floyd with a twist) are worth coming back to again and again. I am lucky enough to have both the vinyl (in white!) and a digital edition. This is a record that deserves a larger audience. Easily five out of five stars!
