3 stars Sorry, but I simply can't get into this album. There's some definitely brilliant tracks in it like the opener and Knots, but the rest seems pretty average. It's fun to listen to, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece.

Technically speaking, this album is amazing. Vocal work is insanely good and all the musicians play their part very tightly and precisely. It's impossible to deny that, which is why there's some tracks where I can definitely see a spark of genius. Such is the case of tracks like The Advent Of Panurge, Raconteur Troubadour and Knots. Unfortunately I can't say the same about everything.

Gentle Giant's style is very recognizable, that doesn't mean however, that I absolutely dig it. Three Stars, still a good album.
