5 stars Review #166

This album is filled with original songs played by the classic middle-seventies Zappa band: Ruth Underwood, Jeff Simmons, Don Preston, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Chester Thompson, George Duke, Ralph Humphrey, Tom Fowler, Bruce Fowler, and Walt Fowler; half improvised, half rehearsed songs filled this double LP with excellent instrumentation and very funny lyrics. Along the almost 70 minutes it lasts, this record is one of the most interesting, complex, original, and entertained albums Frank Zappa ever made. The music mixes textures of Jazz, Hard Rock, Blues, Avant-Garde music, and the classic weird comedy Zappa was very popular for giving lots of chances to each instrument to shine in a large amount of very enjoyable instrumental sections.

Absolutely essential!!
