1 stars I just don't get this one at all, Fair enough, Don Van Vliet's vocals certainly get things going, but this album leaves me cold. I much prefer 'We're Only in it for the Money' from the previous year. That one's so wacky and inventive there's nothing not to like about it. I SO wanted to like this album, but it does nothing at all for me. I get continually fed up listening to this, no matter how many times I hear it. Probably due to the excruciatingly long guitar and saxophone bursts that seem to go on forever on one or two of the tracks. Vocals is the one thing this album really needs and is sadly missing. I mean, Frank had a good voice, so where is he? This should have been so much better. All the ingredients are there but it just seems to fall flat on it's face, making me want to put on the wonderful 'Trout Mask Replica' instead. Very annoying.
