2 stars Black Metal.

As simple as that. I have always regarded this band as a standard black metal band. They are the best ever Austrian black metal band and one of the better mainland European (Scandinavia excluded) bands. What I have heard from Abigor, and I have all their albums bar the ones that has got them a listing in PA, is pure black metal. Their Opus IV includes some pretty clever black metal with some keyboards and acoustic guitars which spices up the music. This is not a primitive black metal. Neither is it a chainsaw massacre. But progressive, it ain't. Neither is it good music.

I am firmly of the opinion that the vikings has all the good black metal and this album from Abigor has not changed my opinion. But if you are into cleverly presented black metal in the Marduk vein; this album is recommended. I am not a fan, but I have heard far worse black metal albums than this album.
