1 stars We all have to start somewhere........

This is the first single from the most influential pop group ever. They were also the grandfathers of progressive rock. Their first song on the other hand is a children rhyme. The melody is so simple that even two years old kids knows it inside out. The Beatles's version is rocked up and an attempt to sound like Elvis Presley. Which was pretty normal those days; Elvis Presley being their idol. The same can be said about the B side The Saint. Elvis Presley is ever present here.

The result is a pretty dire single which reached # 5 in the German charts and # 48 in good old England. This single reminds me a lot about my alltime favorite band Rush and their dire first single. In other words; don't judge a band on their first single.

Dire, dire, dire.......... but a big hit in the local kindergartens.
