2 stars When I am listening to this single, I find it hard to believe that The Beatles once was the most dangerous thing from the east since Genghis Khan. Many Americans thought The Beatles was a KGB sting, remember.

The tame B side Ask Me Why is as dangerous to the security of USA as a drowsy squirrel. It is a naive beat song without any drive or purpose. It is best forgotten............. But it was included on some albums. The main song Please Please Me is another proposition again. It is driven by some good singing and a harmonica. The melody is pretty good and it is evident that The Beatles had the X factor in them. Maybe the seeds for Revolver and Sgt Peppers was sown in that song. A good three star song in my view. The B side is a lame duck so I give it two stars. This band has the potential make it big one day........
