TOWARD THE SUN / FLUID DRUID

Druid are a UK quartet from the 70 ties....they made 2 albums (1975/76) and my progmate Leo, gave it to me in 2003. Ive owned them on vinyl back then. So now they´re here on cd' and my expectations are great...so here goes.... Druid are a fantastic mix of Magna Carta and YES.....OH..YES THEY ARE! Imagine Magna Carta with a rougher edge...then...imagine Yes with a softer core!! Well there you have it......that is to say Druid is very much their own in style and music. There are wonderfull vocal arrangements and beautiful music to boot. This is music that only the UK guys can make (sorry US freaks)...these laidback vocals and well composed music that intervene with the carefully placed lyrics! As this is a double act ( two albums in 2 cd) this their first " Towards the sun" is really a beauty and the instrumental " Theme" is a wonderful piece. Now i could rave about the songs for an hour..but the matter of fact is.....this is a beautiful band with a beautiful sound!! So dear prog friend.....if you do like UK prog from the mid 70 ´ties. Then look no further this is a real fabulous gem......some might add that the first album " Towards the.." are the best,but hey "Fluid" have its moments. Its more in the Yes vein...but light Yes and thats no bad thing...listen to track # "FM 145" its great and like a Yes track..they´ve never recorded!! Well, i have raved about Druid...now its up to you.....do you need this cd?? Of course you do...if you´re a real prog freak!! This is UK prog history...and you need to get it!! Get it before your friend!! Me? I love them !!
