4 stars What a unique combination Akkerman - van Leer! Sorry to see that this great ego's didn't synergate for many years, but they have given us some beautiful songs. Especialle 'Tommy' and 'Focus II' are my favourites. As in many bands the rhythm section isn't often mentioned, and that's why Id like to add something in this review. Surely van der Linden is one of the best drummers Holland has ever had. He's very creative and his a own style. I mean listen to his drumsolo on the live albm of Focus. You don't here solo's that much anymore.... And listen to the sound of the bass: mostly rhythmic, but also very melodic and he varies the groundnotes in the chords, and that gives a special sound and sphere to the music. But ofcourse the major role is for Jan Akkerman. When you put 20 guitarists in one line, you'll have no problem hearing which one is Jan... And that makes him special: his own sound; beautiful chords and he combines melodie with fast notes in a specifc way. Thx Focus! Jannie
