TOMORROW NIGHT

The single from the second Rooster album "Death Walks Behind You" is one of the highlights of my favourite AR album from 1970. This single was quite well known on the psychedelic circuit with interesting lyrics that only make sense for those indulging in hallucinatory stimulus; "when I wake up in your bed, I can still hear what you said, like a bad dream I can't fight, tomorrow night." John Cann took over on this lineup as lead vocalist and added his own brand of electric guitars. He asks the question that may or may not be to your taste, "am I lying here next to you? am I thinking I need to really love you? do it right, tomorrow night."

The next section is a kind of semi chorus that has more enigmatic lyrics, "time goes so slow when you're gone, days turn to years, it seems so long." Vincent Crane is incredible as usual on Hammond organ, and Carl Palmer was replaced (must have joined another band...) by the less controlled but aggressive drummer Paul Hammond. Tomorrow Night remains one of Atomic Rooster's famous singles and it's got a great hook. Listen to it here on the progarchives!

The B Side is Play The Game which is a straight rocker with lots of guitar licks and Hammond motifs, but nothing special; your basic throwaway, perfect for a B side.
