3 stars Hmm, yet another experimental post rock/metal band, this time in the form of Sweeden's Cult Of Luna, who have been having some underground scuccess for quite a while now, although this is the only album i have heard or even own of theirs my friend turned me on to them, and i must admit i quite enjoyed this release. Quite different from some of their peers The Cult Of Luna are another one of those bands that use the element of supprise in their music, theyve got quite a viceral approach to bands within the post-rock/metal genre such as say Explosions In The Sky and have more in common with the post-hardcore bands like Rosetta. Now the production as you'd expect from a band like this is quite good, im not a fan of post-hardcore that much so the little things that they use on the vocals for example i wasnt too happy with but meh, its the songs we really should be talking about, and their great. Standout tracks include the 11 minute epic GHOST TRAIL, THE GREAT MIGRATION, and the final track FOLLOWING BETULAS;

Owlwood - 7/10 Eternal Kingdom - 7/10 Ghost Trail - 9/10 The Lure (Interlude) - 6/10 Mire Deep - 7/10 The Great Migration - 9/10 Osterbotten - 8/10 Curse - 8/10 Ugin - 8/10 Following Betulas - 10/10

My Conclusion? Although im not a massive fan of this band its a pretty decent album and worth checking out for post-metal, expirimental and post-hardcore fans who are after something different with their post-hardcore.
