5 stars The best Death metal album of all time? well its no doubt in my top 5 of all time, maybe in my top 10 of all time ever..in any genre. This album is simply without a doubt a masterpiece, really showing what Death are capable of and showing them as a force to be reckoned with. As far as the songs go they are longer more complex than ever before and just overall more epic with standout tracks including CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN the most wellknown Death song, ZERO TOLERANCE with its uber catchy chorus and the overly epic final song PERENNIAL QUEST reaching over 8 minutes. Production wise again i had no real gripes with it, it seemed cleaner than ITP and had a bit more sparkle to it. Musicmanship in any Death release is always flawless and this is no different, with the mighty Mr. Schuldiner as godly as he can be, and Gene Hoglan blasting his heart out all for the love of the metal;

Symbolic ? 9/10 Zero Tolerance ? 10/10 Empty Words ? 9/10 Sacred Serenity ? 9/10 1,000 Eyes ? 8/10 Without Judgement ? 9/10 Crystal Mountain ? 10/10 Misanthrope ? 9/10 Perennial Quest ? 10/10

My Conclusion? nothing more i have to say, the last two Death albums are essential to any music fan full stop, this albums needs to be bought...
