MIRROR TO THE SKY

Well I have to say, after the last two let downs (i.e. "The Quest" and "Heaven and Earth"), I'm really liking this new Yes album. I've listened to it through and through a few times now and it just feels better with each listen. There are some weak moments, with Circle of Time being the weakest (could have been left off all together), but otherwise it's a pretty good listen with some interesting surprises. I think I would have given it 3.5 stars, but since I can't rate it in fractions, I chose to give them the benefit and rate it 4 stars. I believe it is the best effort yet with the current lineup.

I'll end simply with this thought...there are lot of people out there, myself included, who really miss the classic Yes lineup of the mid 70s. Unfortunately, those days are gone. The NEW Yes will likely never come close to the grandeur that was the OLD Yes. But I think the NEW Yes deserves a chance. Maybe their next effort will be what we've all been waiting for. One can hope!
